Lifting the lid.
Dad is holding the tray we put the sugar syrup in. They should stop relying on the syrup soon as the nectar supply ramps up.
What???
The upper corners have sealed honey comb. The middle is the "brood chamber" where the queen has laid eggs.
Holding bees on your finger, kind of cool!
We had our Ghanaian wheelchair athlete friends over to dinner. They came to Spokane to race in Bloomsday.
We had a fun weekend with Ashley and Bub, who came over for Bloomsday. There are pics of Ashley and the bees too, but they are on Bub's cell phone. Bub?........
Ashley was so excellent at keeping the dinner conversation flowing. She could be Barbara Walters conducting an interview, she has such finesse!
Thanks for coming over to see us, thanks for the plants and the sourdough starter too!

That looks like so much fun! (with the exception of picture number 4, which has left me confused and a little frightened). I hope we can make it up to Spokane soon and mingle with the bees. You guys all look great! Now, someone post Bloomsday pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun with you too! I don't know what happened in picture 3.
