Welcome Baby Ezra!

Ezra Mackelprang Thompson
Born at 9:50 p.m. September 8th, 2013
Weight: 9 pounds 15 ounces

Life is much easier when your water has broken but contractions haven't started in earnest yet.

A large private hospital room is also nice.

I'll spare the gory details of the following 28 hours or so, and stick to the good stuff :)

Time to get weighed, foot-printed, the first diaper, and more!

And he's every bit as enormous as we thought he might be--I birthed a 10-pounder (or, as the nurses told Cameron, "Your wife gave birth to a three-month old!")

Mommy may be exhausted, sick, and shaking, but she is already in love :)

I was so happy when the shakes died down enough for me to finally hold him.

Our (very, very happy) family :)

 Grandpa is IN LOVE

While the nurses rolled me into my recovery room, Cameron took Ezra for his first bath--we have discovered that Ezra is NOT a fan of "nakey time."

Seriously, he is REALLY not a fan of nakey time.

 Or of baths...

But he seemed to be okay once he was all nice and clean.

Our sweet little boy :)  He is truly amazing.

Many more pics to come in the next few days (and weeks...and months...and years...)

  3. Emily and Cameron are rock stars! Emily, for the obvious physical stuff she went through and is still going through; Cameron, for the loving support and care of his wife and son. He is just about to spend his 3rd night on a couch so he can be there to take care of them. You should see the way he can calm Ezra by his voice and gentle touch. Ezra is so new and so sweet. I just love looking at him, feeling his soft skin and hearing the little sounds he makes.

  7. There is nothing sweeter than witnessing the love Emily and Cameron have for their little guy--though watching Ezra's grandma cuddle and love him is a close second. On second thought, feeling his body mold to grandpa's chest and neck wins the grand prize.
