Baby's First Haircut

Ezra's sweet curls were so cute!  Unfortunately, they had taken him into the dark and dangerous "Mullet Territory" (and also got in the way of his bib, his eyes, etc).  We were excited to be able to take him for his first haircut when Grandpa was visiting (so he could provide moral support :)  We went to a real barbershop where Cameron gets his hair cut.  The barber did an excellent job, and Ezra seemed remarkably unperturbed by the whole ordeal...

The "before" picture.
Toys in the waiting area.  He LOVES trucks.

He was a little unsure at first...

...but Daddy remembered to bring his light toy that Grandma and Grandpa bought for him at the Seattle Aquarium.

He loved it when the barber let him familiarize himself with the spray bottle by spraying water into his mouth.

He also got his very own comb to play with (in part because he kept reaching for the barber's comb every time he tried to use it).

Grandpa helped keep him entertained.

Before using the electric clippers, the barber let Ezra investigate this interesting new toy.

A constant supply of treats kept him happy.

Silly face!

Brushing all the extra hair off.

More comb exploration.

Getting his hair combed.

Picking out a treat (for doing such a good job!)

  3. Oh my goodness, such a great documentary of his 1st haircut. Darling! That barber did a great job of making Ezra comfortable.

  4. This is great! The barber looks really fantastic - well aware of how to deal with a curious and potentially squirmy child. The hair was adorable before, but much less mullet-ous in the after and still adorable :-)

  5. He went from toddler to little boy right before our eyes. He was such a beautiful toddler, people mistook him for a girl sometimes--no more.
