eating

I had a brilliant idea.  Let's see if Nora knows how to feed herself!  As you will see, she knows what the spoon is, she knows were the food is, she knows that you have to move the spoon from the food to the mouth.  What she doesn't know is how precisely to get the food on the spoon.

Cute, yeah?  A couple of problems.  She started to get grumpy after the whole "feeding" herself had gone on a while.  I would get grumpy too if I were trying to eat and none of the food was reaching my mouth.  This brings us to problem one.   She wouldn't relinquish the damn spoon.  I solved that problem quickly enough.  I just went and got another spoon.  One for mom, one for Nora.  Which brings us to problem two.  Have you ever tried to eat with two spoons in your mouth?  What about trying to insert a spoon while still in the process of chewing?  Tough for those of us who don't mix up the handle of the spoon with the business end.  Even harder for one who thinks that the best way to make friends with the cat is to bite down on his tail.

Postscript: This is what happens when you take away the spoon.

  3. Laughing again this am! She sure can turn on the crying. She is going to want to hold that spoon herself at every meal. By the way, did Marlo really make the mistake of staying put long enough for Nora to bite his tail?
