This video was taken at ~1:30pm. At that point, no napping had occurred. At all. Naps? For schmucks. Look how happy I am. I don't need no stinkin' naps. Shortly after, she succumbed. Tricked into sleeping by some boobage. But only for 20 minutes. She is a tricky one. She woke up all smiles. Hey! I'm awake! But then. Then. She turned into a monster. A little shit. A whining, moaning, crying, little terror. A terror who hates naps.
After an hour or two of that, back into the crib she went. Against her will. With the hope that sleep would prevail. The problem? She immediately stands up. She almost can't help it. No matter how tired one is, sleep doesn't come while standing.
So Scott had an idea. Car seats have straps. Good straps. Now she is in her bedroom. Strapped into her car seat. She isn't sleeping, but there are long stretches of silence interrupted by "Ba Ba Ba Bas" and a few whines. We have hope.
Update: We have sleep!
And another video. I couldn't choose between them.
Falling down laughing!!! What a great video and a great commentary. Scott, way to be creative!
ReplyDeleteSo I watched the video first and felt a bit baby hungry. Then I read the text. I really LOVE being an aunt.... Enjoying, loving, and spoiling happy Nora. Letting Rachel and Scott enjoy unhappy Nora!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Nora, I just have to say that you are doing a great job of standing up and moving around your crib. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteWOW Nora - you are doing a great job of moving from babyhood to cute little girlhood. In twelve years from now your parents will have a tough time waking you up for school.
ReplyDeleteLove you - GG & GG Layton
The cuteness! I have watched these over and over again when I feel the need to smile :) Glad I wasn't there for the aftermath of her non-napping giggling behavior though... :)
