Nora's First Birthday

So I've been processing all of the photos from our Thanksgiving weekend (turns out there's 500+) and I came across this series from Nora's first birthday party. She's chowing down on her delectably delicious cupcake, so I couldn't resist making an animated GIF out of them :) YUM.

Not to take the day away from Nora but.....

This is what hitting the "Submit" button on my National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program application does to me! This was a few months in the making and significantly increased the stress and business of this first semester.  The award would give me a $32,000 per year stipend for three years, allowing me to join pretty much whatever lab I want and do whatever research I want. I probably won't get it, but I worked REALLY hard on the application.
Note all the diet cola that it took to get me to this point.  (And for anyone wondering, it's only Diet Pepsi because it's cheaper than Diet Coke at Costco.)
